6 AWG PV Wire 2000V UL4703 — Made in USA | In Stock | Ships Same Day
Photovoltaic Cable LLC offers UL4703-certified 6 AWG Copper PV Wire rated at 2,000 Volts — the largest gauge in our copper PV wire lineup, engineered for high-current main feeder runs, large commercial ground-mount arrays, and utility-scale installations where maximum current capacity is required. Available in Black and Red, in 2,500 ft reels. All inventory ships same day from our three U.S. fulfillment centers.
When to choose 6 AWG
6 AWG is specified when string currents exceed 40A, when DC feeder runs are longer than 150 ft, or when voltage drop calculations require the lowest possible resistance conductor. It is the standard choice for main feeder runs from combiner boxes to central inverters in commercial and utility-scale projects. Use our Voltage Loss Calculator to confirm whether 6 AWG is the right gauge for your system.

Both configurations are in stock and ship same day from three U.S. fulfillment centers: LaPorte, Texas — Miami Lakes, Florida — Rancho Dominguez, California. Pick-up available at all locations. Most orders arrive within 1–3 business days. Free shipping on orders over $10,000 — applied automatically at checkout.
Frequently asked questions
When should I use 6 AWG instead of 8 AWG?
Use 6 AWG when your string current exceeds 40A, your DC run exceeds 150 ft, or your voltage drop calculation requires a lower-resistance conductor. Our Voltage Loss Calculator will confirm the right gauge for your project.
Is this wire rated for direct burial?
Yes. UL4703-listed PV wire is rated for direct burial, conduit, and free-air installation per NEC Article 690 guidelines.
Is 6 AWG only available in 2,500 ft reels?
Yes, currently available in 2,500 ft reels in Black and Red. Contact our sales team at +1 305 842-6291 to discuss availability for larger project quantities.
